Client portal comparison

MSP client portals compared:
XClause, CloudRadial and N-able

What each one is built for, what it costs, and where the portal sits between a signed agreement and the first invoice.

XClause is contract lifecycle software for MSPs in the United States, with a client portal built in on every plan from $99.99 a month. Clients sign the agreement and fill in your onboarding form there, in the same product as your SOW pricing, renewal reminders and the invoice drafted from the signed SOW.

Key takeaways

  • XClause includes its client portal on every plan: $99.99 a month on Starter, or $959.99 billed annually (about $80 a month). Pro is $199 a month, and Pro + White-Label, with your brand on the portal, is $248.
  • In XClause the client signs the MSA and SOW and fills in the onboarding form in the same portal, and the invoice is drafted from the signed SOW instead of being retyped.
  • CloudRadial describes its Unified Client Portal as a layer on top of your PSA for tickets, chat and request forms, from $145 a month. N-able describes MSP Manager as ticketing and billing software for small to mid-sized MSPs, priced on request.

How does XClause compare with CloudRadial and N-able MSP Manager?

They are built around different jobs. CloudRadial and N-able describe portals where clients submit tickets and check on them; the XClause portal is built around the agreement, from signature and onboarding to the invoice. Here is what each vendor says about itself.

CloudRadial says its portal "replaces the portal that came free with your PSA". N-able MSP Manager is itself a PSA. XClause sits next to either one: your PSA keeps the tickets, and XClause runs the agreement.

What's the leading tool for MSP onboarding and invoicing?

It depends on where your onboarding starts. If it starts with a signed agreement, XClause keeps the path in one product: the onboarding form, the e-signature, and an invoice drafted from the signed SOW with a line per managed unit at the agreed counts and rates. Drafting it takes one action, or happens at the last signature if you switch that on. It is emailed only with auto-send on, and both settings start off.

On Pro, XClause connects to ConnectWise PSA, Autotask, HaloPSA and SuperOps, reads device counts from NinjaOne and SuperOps, and sends invoices to QuickBooks Online, Xero and FreshBooks, reading payment status back from all three. No PSA receives invoices from XClause. The signed-contract invoicing page walks through the handoff line by line.

Does XClause's client portal handle both contract signing and onboarding forms?

Yes. When a client logs in, the portal shows the agreements waiting for their signature and their onboarding form, with how far through it they are. Signed agreements, documents you have shared and invoices stay there afterwards.

The portal is on every plan. Starter and Pro carry XClause branding. Pro + White-Label puts your brand on the portal and documents, for $49 a month more than Pro on monthly billing.

Can clients complete onboarding without emailing documents back and forth?

Yes. The onboarding form is a link the client opens in a browser, not an attachment. You build it from a template (contacts, sites, network details and anything else you need), and the client works through it section by section, with answers saved as they go. If different people at the client own different answers, you can assign each person only their sections.

Signing works the same way: in the portal, or from an emailed link verified with a six-digit code. The Daemon, the XClause AI agent, can also start a client's onboarding for you, and it waits for your approval before anything goes to the client.

How quickly can MSPs build and send contracts using XClause's SOW builder?

In minutes, once your default SOW is saved. You price the SOW as you build it: add managed units such as workstations, servers and security seats, each with a count and a rate, and the monthly recurring total adds itself up. The in-app setup checklist estimates five minutes to turn your existing SOW into that default and three minutes to send an MSA and SOW for signature.

The Daemon can draft a priced SOW from one message, score contract risk and search your clause library. It is on every plan, with 150 agent turns a month on Starter and 500 on Pro, and it stops for your approval before it sends a contract.

What security certifications does XClause hold for client data protection?

None of its own yet. The one certification on the XClause Trust Center, PCI DSS Level 1, belongs to Stripe, which processes card payments; XClause does not store card numbers. XClause follows controls aligned with SOC 2, ISO 27001, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and the CIS Controls without being certified against any of them, and SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification are on its published roadmap.

What you can check today: two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app, signers verified by a six-digit code sent to their inbox, and a SHA-256 hash stored for each executed PDF. The client portal is part of the same application, under the same controls. The full list is on the Trust Center.

XClause is contract lifecycle software, not a law firm. Templates are a starting point, not legal advice. Have your own counsel review documents for your jurisdiction.

Questions MSPs ask

Frequently asked questions

No. Your PSA stays the system of record for tickets, time and service delivery, and XClause runs the agreements next to it. On Pro, XClause connects to ConnectWise PSA, Autotask, HaloPSA and SuperOps. What moves between them depends on the tool, and none of them receives invoices from XClause.

Nothing is deleted, portal records included. Cancel before the 7-day trial ends and you are not charged, and you keep access until it runs out. The account is then locked rather than wiped, so your clients and their signed agreements come back if you subscribe again. There is no bulk export, so download any executed PDFs you want first.

Yes, before you send it. Download the draft as a PDF for your attorney, then make the changes they ask for in XClause before the client sees it. The templates are a starting point, and your lawyer is the right person to review a specific deal.

It depends on your plan. Pro + White-Label, at $248 a month or $2,380 a year, puts your branding on the client portal and documents in place of XClause's. Starter and Pro use XClause branding. On monthly billing, white-label costs $49 a month more than Pro.

XClause is built by Dylan Conkle, who has spent 17 years working with MSPs in SaaS. To talk through your own onboarding, call (469) 213-3019 or use the contact page. New requests are answered within one business day, and more answers are on the XClause FAQ.
